Through all the talk about this year being a bad year for Republicans, especially in Oregon, a year in which the GOP didn't even get a candidate for Oregon Attorney General, there are still several good Republican candidates for the Legislature.
One of the best of these candidates is Jeff Duyck: Duyck is running for House district 29 to represent the cities of Cornelius, Forest Grove, and part of Hillsboro, in Washington County.
Jeff Duyck has strong roots in the district: His father moved to the area in the 1940's and Jeff is a lifelong resident of the district. He was born and raised in Cornelius, working on his family's farm, and now lives in Forest Grove. Duyck owned two small businesses in the district, putting a strong emphasis on customer service, and grew them to be very successful. He sold them in 2007.
Jeff Duyck has been a member of the Forest Grove and Cornelius Chambers of Commerce for twenty years, and served as the President of the Chamber in Cornelius. Jeff also has been a member of the Forest Grove rotary for fifteen years and a member of the Cornelius Public Works Advisory Committee.
Jeff's priorities include: building a strong economy, fighting for more accountability, providing education, and health care reform.
Jeff has proved that he is a good candidate: he has easily outraised his opponent, bringing in over thirty-thousand dollars, he has held several blitz walks and walks with his family almost every night, talking to voters around the district. Jeff also plans to hold coffees and other meetings with voters around the district listening to voters concerns and talking about everything from the economy and the race to the cold winter weather.
Jeff Duyck's supporters include: Sheriff Rob Gordon, County Commissioner Andy Duyck, State Senator Bruce Starr, The Oregon Farm Bureau, and the Associated Oregon Industries among many other key district leaders and groups.

I have a feeling Jeff might get his October surprise early this year.
What do you mean?
How come Jeff Duyck's website, as provided in the link, won't let me look at it?
I don't know why; it works for me.
Not strong enough, apparently: http://www.politickeror.com/wallyedgeor/2074/another-goper-bites-dust
See, Jeff Duyck got his October surprise early this year. See NW Republican for more info. Republicans need to do their homework.
